That outline decides whether a pair suits your face far more than the logo does. We hear some version of "help me pick a Cartier that suits my face shape and style" at the counter most weeks. The honest answer starts with your jaw and forehead, not the model number.

Below is what we actually hold in stock, matched against the shapes that flatter a round, oval or square-jawed face, and where to look when a face needs something Cartier does not currently give us.

How to read this list: shape before price

Match the shape word in a Cartier name to your own face before you look at the price. Cartier states its shapes plainly on the label: Square, Rectangle, Geometric, Cat Eye. The price sits second, in rupees with the dollar figure beside it in brackets.

The rule we work from is contrast. A frame outline that runs against your face's own outline reads as definition. A round face reads longer under a straight top line and defined corners. A strong, angular jaw softens under a curved rim, for the same reason in reverse. An oval face sits between the two and tolerates almost anything on this list, provided the frame is not wider than the face itself. Hold that one idea in mind and the table below does the rest.

Which Cartier shape suits a round or oval face

Round faces are usually best in a Square or Rectangle Cartier, since a straight top line and defined corners work against the curve of the cheek and jaw. Oval faces have more room to move and can wear most of this list, within reason on width.

For a round face we point people to the CT0439S Square at ₹3,400 (about $35), the CT0244 Square at ₹1,135 (about $10), or the CT0577S Rectangle at ₹1,700 (about $20). Each trades softness for a defined edge. An oval face carries all three, plus the CT0595S Cat Eye at ₹1,490 (about $15) and the CT0474S Geometric at ₹1,845 (about $20). One limit applies whatever the shape: the frame should sit about as wide as the widest part of the face, not wider.

What we tell square-jawed customers, and where to find aviators
